Baby Gifts and Ideas

Finding good baby gifts for birthdays and Christmas is never easy, so we thought we would highlight some ideas in one place. Most of these are focused around learning but some are just plain fun. (To buy, click on either the link or picture itself.)

LeapFrog Learn & Groove Counting Maracas: We love Leapfrog products and the Maracas have been favorites of our kids. We honestly believe them playing with these were responsible for learning to count but more noticeably, their colors. Rated for 6m+, probably better from older babies starting around 9-12m. As a bonus, has a Spanish mode too!

Lamaze Freddie the Firefly: A favorite of one of our daughters, this is a great baby gift for any age. It has the different textures that babies love, rings that are great for smacking and pulling, a teether, and even a squeaker. Overall, whatever your baby is fixated on, this little firefly toy has it. A great "first" gift for young babies.

Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Puppy: Another favorite of our families, this is almost a classic by now. There are newer versions for toddlers but this toy reigns supreme for babies under 12m. Covers ABCs, 123s, parts of the body plus a whole set of songs your baby will love. We love it because younger babies like to hold and press the buttons (cause and effect) - as they get older, they are introduced to the basics above (ABCs, colors, etc). Can't go wrong with this baby gift.

Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Tea Set: We could not leave this off the list - an absolute favorite of one of our daughters from 6m onwards. It's a tea party! Initially great for just sounds and colors, this toy is great for pretend play as baby gets older. Yes, the gals love it!
