Letter Learning

Around 6-7 months is a good time to introduce letters to your baby. To your baby, they are just different objects and shapes. You will need large colorful pictures or flashcards or letters. It may be more convenient to make the pictures yourself with some construction paper and markers.

You can do a letter show for your baby after eating or waking up, ideally when she is most alert. Display each letter and tell your baby the name. As your baby gets older, present the letter in the form of a question and answer it for her ("What letter is this? It's a B!"). You can also display letters in simple frames hanging in your baby's room, these are very popular baby decorations.

Use your creativity to introduce letters in various manners. Regardless, this baby activity is sure to help baby's development.
