A mirror makes for a very good activity prop for you and your baby. Your baby will not realize it is his self image in the mirror yet, but that will not stop him from enjoying mirror reflections. You need a wall mounted mirror where you can move in and out of the reflection.
There are a couple of different baby games you can do. In the first, hold your baby so that he can look outwards. Step in front of the mirror and ask, "Who's that?" - smile and look at his reflection. Now step to the side. After a few seconds, pop back in front of the mirror and say, "It's Aidan!" Step aside again and repeat.
Alternatively, your baby may prefer to just gaze in front of the mirror. He may "talk" to himself or just love to interact with you socially. If this is the case, it may be worthwhile investing in mirror toy that can be mounted in his crib. Be creative and enjoy yourself!
